Film: Listen to Britain (193/250)
First Time/Rewatch: First Time
A film can say so much with so little. Coming in at just 19 minutes, this film paints a portrait of Britain during the war. Children playing, factory workers sweating away, musicians performing. It's an idealized view, to be sure, but what do you expect from a propaganda short film? It's pretty artsy for what it is; minimal narration lets the images speak for themselves, or at least invites the audience to decide what those images mean. I was particularly struck by the musicians...this is worth fighting for. Music, culture, a way of life. It matters.
