First Time/Rewatch: Rewatch

Of all screwball comedies, this one has to be one of the screwiest. A missing bone. Ripped evening clothes. A...leopard? Katharine Hepburn takes Cary Grant (and us) on one wild ride as she tries just about everything to keep him near her, and he tries to hold onto any scrap of sanity he has left! It's a lot of fun, and these two have great chemistry together, even if I don't entirely buy their romance. They seem like they'd be great best friends. She's so lovably maddening, and he's so adorably flustered. The twists and turns the plot takes are unpredictable and hilarious, making this film a must-see for anyone interested in the screwball genre, or anyone just looking for a fun date movie. I've seen this one countless times and I still crack up at Cary Grant's face as he struggles for words and then just passes out from sheer exhaustion. A damn good comedy.
