Sight & Sound Challenge: Taxi Driver (1976)

Film: Taxi Driver (8/250)
Critics Poll: 31st
Directors Poll: 5th
First Time/Rewatch: Rewatch

It seems like Martin Scorsese is revered by just about everyone. While some of his more recent films have been hit or miss for me (I adored Hugo, and didn't care for Wolf of Wall Street), I think we can all agree that many of his earlier films are classics for a good reason. Taxi Driver is one of three Scorsese films in the top 250 and it's definitely one of his best. From the dialogue, to the music, to the casting (love Cybill Shepherd and Jodie Foster in this), to the gorgeous night scenes (street lights never looked so good!), Scorsese knew what he was doing, and this film has his name written all over it. Pretty damn awesome.
